Brooks Kimmis, MD

Brooks Kimmis, MD, is a dermatologist who specializes in adult and pediatric dermatology, with a particular interest in complex medical dermatology, biologic therapies and emerging treatments.

Dr. Kimmis treats a wide range of skin conditions, including skin cancer, psoriasis, eczema, acne, rosacea, allergic contact dermatitis, connective tissue and rheumatologic skin conditions, lichen planus, blistering disorders and cutaneous lymphomas. He takes an individualized, evidence-based approach to care and strives to build lasting relationships with his patients.

A Kansas City native, Dr. Kimmis is excited to return home and care for the community where he was born and raised. He attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) School of Medicine through its combined BA/MD program, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and held leadership positions. He completed a preliminary year in internal medicine at UMKC before earning his dermatology training at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Following residency, Dr. Kimmis practiced for four years in Rhode Island and served as an assistant professor at New York Medical College. He also helped educate medical students and residents through clinical teaching and work at local free health clinics.

Outside of work, Dr. Kimmis enjoys playing tennis, watching and discussing film, reading, hiking, traveling, volunteering, and spending time with his spouse, friends and family.
